Help! New DK needs a name!
Coming soon from Miss Babs - A new DK yarn that we would like YOU to help us name! The new yarn is soft, superwash, 100% Merino with 3 smooth plies that create a smooshy, springy DK weight yarn. Please join us in the quest to come up with a terrific name for our New DK! You can submit your suggestions by commenting here, on our Facebook page, or on our Ravelry group. We will compile all the entries and select TWO winners. One winner will be randomly selected from all the entries. One winner will be selected from those that submit the winning name suggestion, if there is more than one person who suggests the winning name. The New DK name will be chosen by the Miss Babs Team here at the studio. We will announce the winners on Tuesday July 22nd. We appreciate our customers for their creativity, humor, and originality...so this is a chance to be part of the naming process!

My suggestion: Obion
And here’s my thinking. It’s washable and three plies…so I started out thinking Trios (TREE-ose) because it combined Trio (for the three) and Rios (for the water in the washability). But that’s awfully close to Malabrigo’s Rios.
So then I started thinking about rivers and looked up the names of rivers in Tennessee…and Obion appealed to me. It’s local-ish to Miss Babs, it’s a pretty sound, it’s sort of fun to type (and y’all will be typing this word a lot), and it doesn’t seem to have been used for any yarn yet. (At least, it isn’t in the Ravelry database.)
So there’s my suggestion, thrown in the pot…even though the post doesn’t say what the winner might get. Hope it’s something nice!
I’m thinking “Saute-Mouton DK”, which could basically translate to “Jump-Sheep”, that game we play as kids when we jump over a crouching buddy’s back? There must be an equivalent in English… It’s jumpy and springy and sheep related!
Joey – because baby Kangaroos are bouncy!
