Big Silk is one of our long-standing favorite yarns that feels like it has its own secret fan club. It's a beautiful worsted weight blend of 60% merino wool and 40% silk in a hefty 540-yard skein.
We don't take Big Silk to shows, except sometimes in our show colorway, but you've found it online and really made it your own!
We've had a few new samples made up in Big Silk to show off the possibilities of this yarn (hint: a lot of them would make great gifts!).
Fruitcake by Laura Aylor, shown here in one skein of Radiant Cloudscape. This bandana-style cowl is perfect for all kinds of colorways.
Satie by Dee O'Keefe is a cozy hug of a shawl with textured lace stitches. We knit ours in two skeins of Oregon Mist. Dee O'Keefe has lots of worsted weight shawl designs to explore -- it's hard to pick just one to feature!
Powder Wrap by Casapinka is a big squishy asymmetrical shawl with lots of texture. Ours is knit in two skeins of Posey.
Other one-skein ideas for Big Silk include the ever-popular Hitchhiker and Brickless by Martina Behm;
Hot Spiced Cider Cowl by Helen Stewart is a cowl with pretty chevron and eyelet lace finished with peaks of garter stitch.
Bookish Shawl by Jennifer Weissman is a sister project to In the Stacks, with crisp geometric lace.
Phaseolus Bandana Cowl (medium size) by I Need It Crochet features an interesting textured stitch pattern and lots of (optional) fringe!
Autumn Blush by Joji Locatelli is worked tip to tip in subtly textured stitch patterns that will let you enjoy every stitch.
