This week sees the parents and grandparents among our staff thinking about their kids going back to school. Many of the Tennessee schools open later this week. Wow...this is when we reminisce about not going back to school until after Labor Day and trudging miles to school uphill both ways! I actually did walk and bike a mile or more to school. Most of us cannot imagine that parents these days would allow their kids to do that all by themselves as we did. Ah, nostalgia.
In the studio itself this week, we are starting to crank up the dyeing to get ready for fall trunk shows and fall shows, and sweater/shawl/hat knitting season. There is lots of yarn to twist! I am also in the midst of doing color development for late winter and early spring.
Helen and I both are starting to plan some gift giving knitting for Christmas and winter birthdays. I am also trying to finish a number of UFOs so that those will be ready for cooler weather! I'm working on (clockwise from top) Fringe with Benefits, Sonation, a Sockhead hat, Wolkig, and some socks.
Helen is planning to knit Laventeli for her sister, as well as some socks (of course!) and the Stockholm Scarf in Yowza.
