Bay's Edge

Designed by Jennifer Weissman

Bay’s Edge is an eye-catching fingering-weight wrap shaped like a rectangle with angled ends. Bands of gradient colors ripple across its surface and make this a truly addictive knit. Bay’s Edge begins in the same way as a top-down triangular shawl. Once the triangle is deep enough, the two live sides of the triangle are knitted separately to create the two halves of the wrap. This unusual construction is ideal for knitters who love to knit triangular shawls but prefer to wear stoles and scarves. It also avoids the dreaded endlessly long rows at the end of most triangular or crescent shawl projects. The finished piece is stunning when worn as a wrap, with a dramatic rippling ‘V’ of colors in the center of the piece. Bay’s Edge is also beautiful when worn as a scarf, displaying the rippling gradient along both angled ends.
