Mountain Meadow is our special 2024 colorway for Babs' birthday.

As most everyone knows, I love flowers and nature, and one of my favorite ways to come up with ideas for new colorways is to go for a drive. This is exactly what I did in advance of developing Mountain Meadow. This colorway makes me wish for a long walk in a meadow with a light breeze and clear morning sky as a way to spend some of my birthday. Each skein is different, with a light creamy background with layers of warm pink, butter yellow, and cool green, and speckles in inky blue, turquoise, mossy green, gold, pink, and purple.

This yarn is speckled: it has a tonal-colored background shade peppered with small dark specks and spots of dye. Each skein is different in terms of speckle distribution and placement. We will do our best to choose multiple skeins that coordinate well.

This colorway is a Babette: every skein and every batch is a bit different, but Babs has a method of recreating these artistic colorways. The photograph is an example of representative skeins from this colorway; the skein you receive may differ somewhat. If you have any questions about the color, please give us a call or email to ask for a photo - we are always happy to describe our current batch for you to make sure it meets your needs!

Katahdin 437

A lighter fingering weight than our Yummy 2-Ply, Katahdin 437 (formerly known as Northumbria Fingering - it is exactly the same yarn) is spun from the long, lustrous wool of Bluefaced Leicester sheep. BFL is a perfect canvas for Babs’ colors, giving the yarn a rich depth and slightly glossy finish. It's great for durable, fine-gauge socks, and lovely in crisp lacy shawlettes.

Size: 437 yd / 3.5 oz (400m / 100g) skeins
Content: 100% superwash Bluefaced Leicester wool
Gauge: Light fingering weight. 8-10 stitches per inch knit on US 0-2, 7-8 stitches per inch crocheted on US A-D.
Care Instructions: Machine wash gentle, dry flat.
